Unfortunately, due to irresponsible pet owners, dogs are not allowed on the beach. I am glad you asked and mentioned keeping your dog on a leash. It is bad enough that we have some dog owners that do not pick up after their dogs in the park, but, can you imagine how bad it would be on the beach with kids digging in the sand? Also, with the crowds we get on the beach, it could be a safety problem as well. Thanks again for asking, and we hope you are enjoying your stay with us.

This is by far the best campground in the entire southern U.S. It starts with the best people in the office and extends to a nice level site with full hook-ups for $140/week or $450/month. There is nowhere better than Lake End Park. We have been here several times and the hospitality and accommodations are the best anywhere. There is plenty to do in Morgan City as well. There is a wonderful Golf Course, Historical Sites, Avery Island, New Iberia (the home of James Lee Burke! If you haven’t read his novels, you are missing out), authentic Cajun Cuisine ranging from the Atchafalaya Café to Rita Mae’s Café. Some of the best Fried Chicken you can ever eat at Randy’s. You want somewhere to celebrate Mardi Gras? Check out the Carnival celebrations in Morgan City, Houma, Patterson, Franklin, and New Iberia. These are not just “boobs and booze” these are community celebrations for the entire family. One last note, when you call for reservations, ask for “Sonia”. She is the sweetest lady in the Louisiana!

All of the tent sites have electricity, and water is available at the bathhouse near the tent sites.

We have no covered sites in our park, including our Long-Term area.

I live and Florida. That is an 8 an 1/2 hour trip from my door to yours. So making a reservation was iffy.. but I was pleasantly surprised at the staff and the almost fully stocked cabin we rented for what would have been less than a motel room for our stay! What we didn’t have at the cabin we can easily get 1 to 2 miles up the road. We got to watch the firework display right from our second floor porch and the view to wake up to right on the lake was amazing! The staff up front was very helpful in giving me any info I needed. And always smiling and laughing cuz I’m from Florida wanting to visit their lil town 😉 Morgan city is just full of history and so many things to see! Also if you ain’t Ever seen an alligator I promise you you will not miss seeing at least five ( I saw at least 20) just in the canals and ditches running off from the lakes and bayous !!!! Love Louisiana and if I ever go back this is where I’m staying!!!

Do you have to camp here to use the park & beach? Or can you just come in for the day?

The public day-use area is open daily from dawn to dusk. If the gatehouse is open, there is a $5.00 charge per vehicle. Thanks, and hope to see you soon.

I lived in Morgan city in the early 1980’s and my husband worked offshore. I visited the park once and want to say that I definitely felt it was a wonderful place to commune with God. It was magical when the bells started playing as I didn’t know they were in the park.
